Come to the Fire Station
The Caswell No. 1 Fire Station Museum was built in 1895, after an uncontrollable fire destroyed much of the downtown Kinston area. The museum is centered on its showpiece, a LaFrance Pumper, and contains a collection of firefighter memorabilia including ladders, nozzles, fire extinguishers, and more items from that time period.
You can visit the Caswell No. 1 Fire Station Museum on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. The museum is located at 18 South Queen Street, Kinston, NC 28501.
