Pizza is loved by most people. Sure, you can go out and find your favorite local pizza joint, but you can also cook it in the comfort of your own home. Gone are the days when you have to order pizza or go out to get the best ingredients. Now, you can make restaurant-quality pizza right in your own kitchen. The beauty of making pizza is that it can be made in so many different ways. You can choose from endless toppings, sauces, cheeses, and even the type of dough you use. If you or someone you love has food allergies, such as gluten, it may seem more difficult to enjoy this cheesy delight. However, with this simple recipe from Minimalist Baker, you can enjoy an easy gluten-free pizza any time!
The List
- 1 Tbsp dry active yeast
- 1 1/4 cup warm water (divided)
- 2-3 Tbsp sugar (divided)
- 3 cups gluten-free flour blend
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Get To Work
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Combine the yeast and 3/4 cup of warm water. After five minutes, sprinkle 1 Tbsp of sugar. In another bowl, combine your dry ingredients: flour blend, salt, baking powder, and remaining sugar. Whisk until well combined.
Add the wet yeast mixture into your dry mixture. Add olive oil and a 1/2 cup of warm water. Stir everything together. Form your pizza base, by spreading the mixture onto a greased baking sheet or a pizza stone. Spread or flatten the dough out all the way to the edge in order to get a nice thin crust. Put the pizza dough in the oven for approximately 30 minutes.
Personalize Your Pie
When time is up, pull your pizza dough out and spread generously with your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and toppings. This is where you can be creative based on what your preferences are. Whether you enjoy meat, all veggies, vegan ingredients, or a little bit of everything, you can pick whatever you want in this step. Once you have added all of your extra ingredients to personalize your pie, place it back in the oven for another 20-25 minutes to get everything nice and melted.
