Fall is one of the most special times of the year. Not only is the weather beautiful and comfortable, but it’s also a time to slow down and be grateful for what we have. Of course, you take the time to do that with your family, but why not start the same tradition with your community? That’s just what happens when you attend the Harvest Festival at Neuseway Nature Park. It’s a chance to celebrate the season and think about all you’re grateful for when it comes to your family, friends, and community. Plus, it’s a fun way to spend the day with people you care about! Harvest Festival Details
This year, the Harvest Festival is going to take place on Saturday, Nov. 23. It’s going to start at 11 a.m., and the fun and festivities will run until about 3 p.m. That gives you a whole afternoon of fun and games to participate in. It will all be at Pearson Park, which is conveniently located right here in Kinston, North Carolina.
Pie Competition
Do you make the best pie of anyone you know? Can you knock someone’s socks off with just how good your pie is? If so, you may want to think about entering the pie competition at this year’s Harvest Festival. No matter what kind of pie you like making most, you can enter it into this competition and see if you can take home the grand prize. May the best baker win!
Bobbing for Apples
Can you think of a fall-time pastime that’s more fun than bobbing for apples? The kids especially are going to enjoy this game. Teach your little one how to play, and you just may find that he or she ends up being the winner.
Crafts
Maybe you or your children are feeling a little bit crafty. Take some time to rest from the excitement of the festival by slowing down and making some crafts. They are all fall- and Thanksgiving-inspired, so you’ll have something fun to take home with you at the end of the celebration.

Community Feast
Who doesn’t want to eat? Any good festival has lots of food available, but since this is a harvest festival, the food is an even more integral part of the experience. You’ll get to share dishes with your friends, family, and neighbors, and it’s the perfect way to mix and mingle with people you’d like to get to know better.
