If you have a Jeep, you’ve probably realized that this vehicle can take you through thick and thin on a daily basis. However, you need to ensure you’re taking good care of your Jeep if you want it to stay in the best possible shape. And when winter comes along, there are some things you need to do to make sure you’re prepared for the colder weather. First, you have to make sure that you care for your vehicle appropriately. Second, you should make sure you’re always prepared for emergencies – especially in the winter. Take a look at how you can keep your Jeep moving all season long.
Check Your Tires
If you’re driving somewhere where it’s very cold and snowy in the winter, or you live far out in the country where there aren’t a lot of snowplows, you may want to install snow tires on your Jeep during the winter months. In most places, though, that’s not necessary. Still, you should keep an eye out on your tires to make sure they’re in good shape. Check the tread to ensure they’re not worn, and make sure your tires are inflated to the proper level. This is important all the time but especially during the winter.

Be Prepared for an Emergency
Weather conditions are often harsher in the winter. If something happens to your vehicle and you get stuck, you may have more of a problem. That’s why you should always keep your vehicle well-stocked with everything you might need in an emergency. These include a first aid kit in case someone gets injured and a few bottles of water. Also, keep some shelf-stable snacks like granola bars that you can grab if you’re feeling hungry. You may also want to include some blankets in case you have to wait while a tow truck gets there.
It’s also a good idea to bring some tools along with you in your vehicle. A wrench and a car jack are a good place to start. You may also want to consider something like a portable air compressor so you can always fix a deflated tire.
