The first part of the event starts first thing in the morning. It’s called A Kinston Christmas Downtown, and it’s the perfect time to explore the shops and restaurants in the downtown area. There are going to be special events going on at many of the shops, so be sure to check them all out. You never know what you’re going to find as you wander around.

Light the Night Parade

If you’ve celebrated Christmas in Kinston before, then there’s a good chance that you remember a parade being held in the morning. However, this year, the organizers are changing things up. Instead of holding the parade in the morning, it’s going to go down in the afternoon instead. It will depart Grainger Stadium at 2:30 p.m., so be ready to catch it sometime around then.

Turn on the Holidays

Finally, you’ll want to finish the day off with the Turn on the Holidays event. It will happen right after the parade, and it’s going to take place at Pearson Park. There, you can see the lighting of the giant Christmas tree. Plus, you’ll encounter all other kinds of surprises, as well. Don’t miss out on this part of the event if you truly want to get the whole experience.
