Do you love going out to your favorite Mexican restaurant? You get the chance to try all your favorite dishes there, and everything you eat seems so fresh. That is certainly the magic of going out to eat. But did you know that you could make that same type of food at home? You have to know what you’re doing and then get creative. You probably already know how to whip up some taco filling, and you have to chop the veggies for beautiful toppings. But what about the guacamole? This might be the best part of the entire meal. Check out this guacamole recipe that you have to try for yourself the next time you get the chance.

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make much-beloved guacamole. See what you already have in the fridge or the pantry, and then run out to the store to find the rest.

  • 2 Hass avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ½ red onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • 2 plum tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Queso fresco (You’ll put this on top.)

What to Do

Making this recipe is a lot easier than you’re probably thinking. After you pit and peel your avocados, you can start to mash them up. The easiest way to do this is with the back of a fork. Make sure the mashed avocados are creamy. However, you could leave a few chunks if you like some extra texture in your guacamole.

After that, there’s not much left to do. You’ll want to add in all your other ingredients. Start with the other veggies, and make sure they are well-mixed in. Then start adding your seasonings. You’ll want to sample your guacamole as you add more seasonings to make sure it tastes just how you want it to taste. Finally, sprinkle the cheese on top.
