We turned to Rover for a little inspiration about incorporating your furry friends into your workout routine, and these ideas are as fun as they are helpful. Get your heart rate up and have a blast in the presence of your pet. Let’s see what ideas we found!
Yoga with Dogs
Yoga with your pup is a great way to get in some exercise without having to leave your home. A good beginner pose is the Child’s Pose. For this you will need to get on your knees and sit back on your heels. Then you’ll reach your arms straight out in front of you to achieve a perfect Child’s Pose.
Another great pose for someone just getting into yoga would be the Down Dog pose. While on your hands and feet, push your hips back. This will execute a nice stretch in your calves and Achilles tendon. This can also be a great time to get your dog involved by sitting and standing every time you transition from each position.

Stationary Exercises
Stationary exercises are another great workout tool that you can do with your dog at home. You’ll just need to stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, and keep your weight in your heels and your chest up. As you squat, allow your dog to lower a few inches with, and then you will both return to a standing position. This is a great way to train your dog to listen to your voice commands, and also promotes a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Have fun working out with your best friend. It’s a good bonding experience and guaranteed to be a fun time!
